ABOUT THE TRAVEL STATION
Experience,
made personal.
Joanne's love of travel started early, inspired by her mother's own love of discovering new places.
Her career in travel began in 1993, when she was 19 and living in London. She had left South Africa to travel and experience life abroad, and took a job with a large international travel agency to help fund her travels. What began as a way to keep travelling soon became a career.
Travel has been a constant throughout Joanne's life. Her own travels have taken her across Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East, as well as Australia, New Zealand and the islands of the Indian Ocean. She continues to discover new places and return to old favourites with family and friends.
For Joanne, much of the joy of travel comes from the experiences shared along the way. What makes an experience special is deeply personal - something that means little to one person can mean everything to another. Those moments become stories and memories that stay with us long after the journey is over.
That understanding has shaped the way Joanne thinks about travel. The places matter, but so do the people you share them with and the memories you bring home.
Listen.
Understand.
Deliver.
This philosophy sits at the heart of The Travel Station. Built on Joanne's years of experience in travel, the business reflects her belief that good travel planning begins with the person taking the journey.
Every traveller is different. Some want to see as much as possible, while others prefer to slow down and spend more time in fewer places. Some are looking for adventure, food, culture or scenery; others may have something they have always wanted to see or experience.
There is no single itinerary that is right for everyone.
From there, experience and knowledge help bring the right journey together.
Joanne’s experience in travel remains at the heart of The Travel Station. Her husband, Brendon, brings his business experience to support The Travel Station as it continues to evolve.
Their shared experiences of travel, interest in people and connection to South Africa are all part of the personal approach that has always defined The Travel Station.
